Mat weaving is an ancient craft that has its roots in the Indus Valley Civilization, making it an integral part of the lifestyle of India. There are different types of madhurkathi mats like Ek-Rokha (single mat), Do-Rokha (double mat) and Masland that originate in the Muslim period.
